I don’t hate this as much as I did when I first painted it.
Okay, that was a weak opening.
Let me say instead that I was disappointed with this design at first, but it’s grown on me.
For Day 8’s Metallic theme, I used two of Essie’s Mirror Metallic polishes – Penny Talk and Nothing Else Metals – which have a gorgeous chrome finish. For the feature nails I painted interlacing squares with a small details brush. I accented these with (baby’s first!) Ruffian on my pinky and index nails.
Unforgiving macro is unforgiving. The lines may not be the tidiest, but man do those colors pop against Mint Candy Apple!
Not every day of the 31-Day Challenge was a hit. I’m happy I tried something new, though. Metallic polishes look great on their own, but if you’re going to use them for nail art, I recommend you stick to stamping (I hear they’re great for that!).
